Where is Muratovo lake?

It is part of the group of Banderishke glacial lakes, which are 16 in total. How to get to the lake?

Don’t worry if you are not an experienced mountaineer. The lake is easily accessible and even suitable for walks by families with small children. You can get to it in several ways:

  1. Route from Bansko: the most popular route starts from Bansko. From there you can take advantage of various hiking trails that lead to the lake. Be sure to visit the natural attractions around the city of Bansko itself, such as the dancing bear park in Belitsa, the Svatbata rock formation, Baikusheva mura, etc.
  2. Crossing the mountain: the crossing to Muratovo Lake is moderately difficult and takes about 2-3 hours. You can get by car to h. It’s a whirlwind and you can walk up from there. The trail is well marked and offers exciting views of the surrounding peaks and landmarks. It is a good idea to check in advance if there are no restrictions and if you have to stop at Banderishka Polyana and walk from there.
