Hiking Route from Dobrinishte to Dzhangal Peak
The peak, also known as Momin Dvor, rises to 2730 meters above sea level and is considered one of the emblematic peaks of Pirin.
There are several ways to reach it:
- Starting from Dobrinishte
The trail begins in the small yet picturesque town of Dobrinishte, where travelers can enjoy a short walk around the local attractions before beginning the hike. From the town, the route follows the asphalt road toward Goce Delchev Hut. You may also drive to the hut and leave your car in the parking area. From there, you can take the lift leading to Bezbog Hut.
- Passing Through Bezbog Hut
If you choose to hike on foot, after approximately four hours of walking along well-marked trails, you will reach Bezbog Hut, which offers a cozy atmosphere and an opportunity for a short rest.
- Hiking Through Popovo Lake
The route then continues toward the magnificent Popovo Lake — one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in Pirin. Many visitors choose to take a longer break here in order to enjoy the tranquility and purity of the surrounding nature. This journey is far more than simply climbing a mountain. It is a true adventure that challenges both body and spirit.

Route from Tevno Lake to Dzhangal Peak
The hike from Tevno Lake to Dzhangal Peak is preferred by many experienced mountaineers because of its spectacular views and steep challenges.
This route requires solid physical preparation and mountain hiking experience, but the reward at the end is undeniable — breathtaking panoramic scenery from the summit.
- Starting from Tevno Lake
Located at 2512 meters above sea level, Tevno Lake is an ideal starting point for the ascent to Dzhangal Peak. It can be reached through several routes, the most popular beginning in Bansko and passing through Demyanitsa Hut before reaching Tevno Lake.
- Passing Near Goce Delchev Shelter
The next stage passes near Goce Delchev Shelter, where the route becomes steeper and significantly more challenging.
- Final Destination – Dzhangal Peak
The summit offers a stunning 360-degree panorama covering the entire Pirin mountain range and even parts of the Rila Mountains and Rhodope Mountains.

Please note that there is no official marked route to the summit. For easier orientation, follow the orange markings painted on the rocks.
For most of the hike, you will be exposed to open terrain, and there are no water sources available along the way, so plan accordingly and carry enough water.
