Banderishka Meadow

Banderishka Meadow is the heart of the ski area in Bansko and one of the most popular places for winter sports in Bulgaria. Located on 1635 m above sea level., it is the starting point for the lifts that lead to Todorka Peak (2600 m above sea level.) and to some of the most attractive slopes in Pirin. It combines facilities for beginners and professional skiers, a children’s ski garden, a biathlon track and numerous recreational facilities.

Banderishka Polyana is the main entrance to Bansko Ski Centre. The lifts that take skiers to the higher parts of the mountain start here. The place is lively and suitable for families with children as well as for advanced skiers looking for more adrenaline.

The final station of the cable car takes you directly to Todorka Peak. Some of the most famous slopes in Bansko start from here, including the legendary “Umberto Tomba”, where competitions are regularly held from Ski and Snowboard World Cup. The panorama from the top is stunning – you can see Vihren, Kutelo and Cherna mound.

Other ski areas in the area

Shiligarnika (1725 m.a.s.l.) – built back in 1985 for the Balkanida skiing. Today it is a favourite place for its popular slopes “Todorka” и “Balkaniada”, the convenient restaurants and the cherished location.

The Plateau – Ideal for intermediate skiers, with gentle slopes and spectacular views of Mount Strazhite. The area offers two mountain-style restaurants and is one of the best places to “sunbathe” in winter.

Banderishka Polyana can be reached by the cable car from the centre of Bansko. The upper station of the lift is located in this area and is the main starting point for skiers and tourists.

On-site you will find ski lockers, beginners’ schools, eateries, cafés and rest areas. The area is particularly convenient for families with children and for organised groups.

Some of the most popular slopes in the resort start here – “Todorka”, “Platoto” and tracks to “Shiligarnika”. There are options for different levels – from easy and wide slopes for beginners to more challenging for advanced.

The journey from Bansko to Banderishka Polyana by cable car takes approximately 25 minutes. During the ascent, beautiful views of the Pirin Mountains and the surrounding area are revealed, making the journey a pleasant experience in itself.
