Cycling in Dobrinishte and the region

In the area of Dobrinishte and Bansko are marked over 200 km of varied mountain biking trailssuitable for both beginners and advanced cyclists. The unique scenery of the Pirin and Rhodope Mountains makes cycling one of the most popular activities for guests.

Those wishing to explore the routes can contact Dobrinishte Bike Club и Veloclub Banskowhich organize guided cycling tours - individually or in a group, with a preliminary request. In the Complex Ruskovets bicycles are available for rent for adults and children, making the activity accessible to the whole family.

Popular routes include:

  • Dead Dog - 23 km (blue marking, 3★ difficulty) - passes through Bansko - Sv. Nikola - Dobrinishte - Bansko. The return to Bansko can be done by the narrow-gauge railway or by the farm road that runs at the foot of the mountain.
  • Road to Nowhere (Road to Nowhere) - 20 km (green marking, 2★ difficulty) - from Bezbog hut to Dobrinishte and Bansko. The route is downhill only.
  • Mud Bath - 15 km (red marking, 2★ difficulty) - descent from Gotse Delchev hut via forest road in Pirin via s. Obidim and to Dobrinishte.
  • The Flying Scotsman - 22 km (yellow marking, 3★ difficulty) - descent from Bezbog hut to the Mocharata area along the old forest road ending in Dobrinishte or continuing to Trionska Glade and descending into Bansko.

Every year the region hosts prestigious international competitions such as "Road to Nowhere" and "Three Mountains Ultra 120", which establish Dobrinishte as a destination for world-class mountain biking.

Apart from the long mountain routes, the Ruskovets Resort you can also go on shorter bike rides - to the center of Dobrinishte, the mineral beach, the Obidim monastery /for the well-prepared/ or the beautiful city park, where children can safely ride bikes on the paths and the wide city square.
