Are you ready for this adventure?

From Bezbog Hut to Gazey Peak

Starting from Bezbog Hut, located in the heart of the Pirin Mountains, this route is one of the most popular ways to reach Gazey Peak and offers a truly unforgettable mountain adventure.

The hike is approximately 11 km long (around 5 hours) and is filled with scenic landscapes and incredible panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and mountain slopes.

  • The trail begins with a gentle ascent through pine forests from Bezbog Hut, followed by a steeper climb toward Bezbog Peak;
  • After reaching the peak, continue toward Polezhan Peak and descend toward the Upper Gazey Lake. We recommend taking a short break in the meadows, enjoying some food, fresh air, and the peaceful surroundings before continuing;
  • After approximately 3–4 hours of hiking, the route becomes significantly more demanding.

This adventure not only tests your physical endurance but also allows you to enjoy some of the most spectacular views Pirin has to offer.

Gazey Peak

Route from Demyanitsa Hut to Gazey Peak

The heart of Pirin hides routes that remain a true challenge even for experienced mountaineers. The trail from Demyanitsa Hut to Gazey Peak is longer and requires serious preparation and attention because there is no official trail marking. To make access easier, during the summer season visitors can use the lift from Bansko to reach the starting point of the route. The trail passes through wild and rarely visited cirques where nature reveals its raw beauty and perfection. The route begins at Demyanitsa Hut, located around 10 km from Bansko. From there, hikers continue toward Tevno Lake. After a steep ascent, the path passes through the Gazey Lakes area, Ushatsite Peak, and Bezimennata Strazha Peak. A climb toward Golyama Strazha follows, which is not recommended for inexperienced hikers because there is no clear trail. Once you reach it, the route continues with a descent and then another ascent toward Gazey Peak.
